Govt officials to begin registration for bio-metric Nat’l IDs

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Identification Registry (NIR) is calling on top-level government officials to register for their bio-metric national identification cards at the NIR office in Congo Town.

Those being invited are Cabinet Ministers, Director Generals, Managing Directors, heads of agencies and commissions, Legislators,   Ambassadors, and Judges.

The NIR has reserved November 9, 10, 13, and 14, 2017 for dignitaries falling in such category; the process takes place   from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on the assigned dates.

The process includes:  the completion of an application,   payment of a fee ($5.00 USD), or its Liberian Dollars   equivalence per card, and   provision of supporting documents.

The supporting documents, according to a release, include Passport, Voter ID, Birth Certificate, and Naturalization Certificate.

Other requirements are short interview, enrolment data entry, and fingerprinting, photographing, receipt of national ID card, with unique national identification number.
