MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The President of the University of Liberia, Dr.Ophelia Weeks is challenging graduates of the University of Liberia to convert their degrees into building a better Liberia.

Dr.Weeks says the graduates must let their degrees count for something, keeping in mind that we are today what we did yesterday, and we will be tomorrow what we do today.

Dr.Weeks was speaking Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the 98th Convocation of the University of Liberia, where three-thousand-four-hundred-thirty-eight-thousand graduates received degrees in various disciplines.

The UL President said:” The graduates are a treasure chest of historic proportions and boast of the largest graduating class of the UL, of which women are dominant.”

She then praised the graduates, stressing their challenges and acknowledging the spirit of perseverance exhibited over the years.
Dr.Weeks encouraged graduates to keep in mind their stories as they continue life’s journey that they persevered.

She named President Arthur Barclay, Liberia’s fifteenth President, Louis Arthur Grimes, and others as people who have made the University of Liberia proud.
