MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Guinea’s Ambassador Elhadj Abdullaye Dore, has termed as false reports that President Alpha Conde was not given the due recognition during the inauguration of President George Manneh Weah and Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor.

Ambassador Dore said President Conde was part of the ceremony but left because of the crucial engagement he has in Switzerland.

He said President Conde, upon arrival in Liberia, met with both Presidents Weah and Ellen Johnson – Sirleaf before his departure to Switzerland, and it was not based on recognition.

Ambassador Dore disclosed that President Conde and a high power delegation were welcomed and placed where other dignitaries were seated.

He said: “The reports and speculations in some quarters that President Conde left because he was not being recognized is intended to tarnish the cordial relationship between Liberia and Guinea.”

The Guinean Ambassador speaking at a news conference Wednesday, January 24, 2018, warned journalists and the public to stop spreading such unfounded and misleading information.
