President Weah makes major appointment in Government

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has made additional appointments in government pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate where applicable.

Those appointed are Williametta Piso Saydee-Tarr Minister, Ministry of Gender Children & Social Protection Minister of Gender, Children & Social Protection, Deputy Minister for Administration Parleh Harris, Deputy Minister for Protection, Children & Social Welfare Lydia Sherman, Deputy Minister for Gender Alice Johnson Howard, Assistant Minister for Research & Technical Services Maminah Carr, Assistant Minister for Planning & Administration Mamansie Kaba. 

These appointments were released Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Monrovia, by the Executive Mansion.
At the Ministry of Health, Dr. Francis N. Kateh, goes as Deputy Minister for Health Services/Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Minister for Administration Norwu Howard Wesson, Deputy Minister for Research & Planning A. Vaifee Tulay.

At the same time, an Executive Mansion Website named Moses Y. Kollie as Minister of Labor, Deputy Minister for Administration Yvette Freeman, Deputy Minister for Manpower Development Atty. Phil T. Dixon, Assistant Minister for Manpower Development Atty. Welma Sampson.

Others are Samora Wolokollie Deputy Minister for Fiscal Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Deputy Minister for Budget & Planning Tanneh G. Brunson, Assistant Minister for Budget Jesse B. Korboi, Assistant Minister for Fiscal Affairs Jeremiah B. Sackie, Assistant Minister for Administration Patience Kollie-Lawson, Comptroller General Janga Kowo.

At the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment Quiwu Yeke is Executive Director while E. Barten Nyensah is named Internal Audit Agency Director General.

The Executive mansion release further nominated Prof. Wilson K. Tarpeh as Minister of Commerce, Deputy Minister for Administration Wilfred Bangura, Deputy Minister for Small Business Administration Jamama Wolokollie, Assistant Minister for Small Business Administration Debra Nebo, and Deputy Inspector General for Enforcement Josephine W. Davies.

The President named James Henric Pearson Jr. National Security Agency Director while Deputy Director for Special Services is Samuel Siryon, Deputy for Operations for VIP Security Jones Blamo.

Executive Protection Agency (EPS): Director Trokon Roberts, Deputy Director for Administration & Operations Henry Wolo.

At the State Run Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) Ledgerhood J. Rennie retains his position as Director General while Estella Liberty-Kermu and Tete Grebo will serve as Deputies Director general for administration and Broadcasting respectively.

Liberia National Police (LNP), Patrick Sudue, Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General for Administration (101) Sadatu Reeves while the Liberia Immigration Service Commissioner General remains Lamuel Reeves and Deputy Commissioner for Naturalization is Asatu Bah Kenneh.

At the Monrovia City Corporation Jeff Koijee is named mayor while General Services Agency GSA Director General Mary T. Broh retained and former Montserrado County District 17 representative William Dakel is Deputy Director General for Administration.

The release also named C. Mike Donyen as Forestry Development Authority (FDA) Managing Director and Bill Twehway as Liberia Institute of Public Administration Director General.

At the National Port Authority, President Weah named Cece Cuffy-Brown as Deputy Managing Director for Administration and Chief of security Timothy Sudue.

Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Eugene Nagbe Minister, Deputy Minister for Public Affairs Eugene Fahgon,  Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs, Jurah A.M. Sanoe, and Assistant Minister for Information Services Samuel Worzie.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Elias Shoniyin, Deputy Minister for administration, Foreign Affairs, Inspector General Foreign Service Marie Coleman, Chief of Protocol Republic of Liberia Jervis Witherspoon, Chief of Protocol/ Executive Mansion Nora Finda Bundoo.

Land Mines & Enegry Ministry, Gesler Murray, Minister, Deputy Minister Administration Bloatey Scere, Assistant Minister for Mines Emmanuel Swen, Assistant Minister for Administration Agnes Marshall, Assistant Minister for Planning Johnson Willabo,  Assistant Minister for Corrections and Rehabilitation, Eddie Tarawali.

Liberian Institutes for Statistics and Geo-Information Service (LISGIS) Prof. Francis Wreh Director General, Deputy Director General/Administration Mariah Quaye Gilayeneh.
National Fisheries & Aquaculture Authority (NFAA), Deputy for Administration is Augustine Manobalah.

Liberia Airport Authority (LAA), Managing Director Bako Freeman, while Deputy Director Administration is Martin Hayes.
Paynesville City Corporation: Mayor is Pam Belcher-Taylor. Florence Brandy is retained as Superintendent of Montserrado County while Esther Walker is named Bong County Superintendent.

Minister of State Without Portfolio, Trokon Kpui, Legal Advisor to the President, Archie Bernard, Assistant Minister for Logistics J. Emmanuel Potter, Aide de Camp Kaitee Korto Flomo and Prince Toe Jr. Aide de Camp.
