MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Acting Head of the Cabinet, Nathaniel McGill, has maintained that Liberia’s bilateral ties with the United States are poised to grow stronger.

Minister McGill said:” The coming to Liberia of US Under- Secretary General for Political Affairs, Thames Shannon, to attend the inauguration is an evidence of the cordial relations.”

The Acting Head of the Cabinet said:” The trip was particularly important because it was among only three official travels of the US Government that were allowed while all other were cancelled.”

The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs spoke to ELBC Monday, February 19, 2018, in response to media reports, suggesting a shift in ties with President George Weah’s visit to France.

According to Minister McGill, President’s Weah’s visit to France does not in any way suggest a shift in ties.

He said progressive arrangements were underway for President George Weah to pay a State to the United States.
