Gov’t to build fly over bridges to ease Monrovia traffic

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia says an agreement   to construct two overhead bridges to enhance traffic reduction in Monrovia City has been reached with the Chinese Government.

Presidential President Press Secretary, Sam Manneh said: “Negotiation by President George Weah with the Chinese Government for the construction of two overhead bridges at the SKD Boulevard Junction in Paynesville and at the new Ministerial complex intersection in Congo Town, Monrovia is already completed for implementation”.

The Presidential Press Secretary told ELBC Thursday, March 1, 2018 that the construction of the overheads and the rest of the projects will kick off this year as the funds have already been secured.

According to Mr. Manneh the designs of the overhead bridges were done by the Public Works Ministry and are among other projects being funded with U$20 million from the European Union (EU) to improve vocational and technical education in the Southeastern region of Liberia.
