Commerce Ministry disposes of more expired food items

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Inspector Team of the Ministry of Commerce said it has discovered another warehouse stocked with expired food products at the Abijaoudi Supermarket.
The Inspection Team on Monday, March 19, 2018, disposed of six trucks of expired goods in Wein Town in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
According to Commerce Inspector General, Josephine Davis, three of the six trucks came from Star Business Center down Waterside, while four came from Abijaoudi Supermarket.
The exercise is part of the Commerce Ministry Inspection Team’s efforts to get rid of contaminated goods from the Liberian market.
The ongoing disposal followed the recent levied of Seventy-Five Thousand United States Dollars on Abijaoudi Supermarket for selling expired food to Liberians.
The disposal of the expired food has now entered a second day following the discovery of another giant warehouse packed with expired food products.
