MONROVIA, LIBERIA-First Lady Clar Marie Weah says her office will be dedicated to taking care of the disadvantaged, including children and elderly in Liberia.

Madam Weah revealed plans to take young drug addicts off the streets and have them rehabilitated.

Speaking to ELBC Thursday, April 26, 2018, the First Lady said the long term plan is to build a major center that will cater to those people.

According to her, many of those addicts have expressed their desire to leave the streets but don’t know their way out.

She said her office depends on the support of the government to build the center, which will be a breeding ground for the reintegration of addicts and disadvantaged people in the society.

Ambassador Weah also said:” Taking care of the elderly and children has always been her passion since starting a career as a social worker back in New York.”

She said taking care of the elderly is like setting example for her own kids to know that one day they will need such care when they get old.

The Liberian First Lady disclosed plans to take Children mainly girls from the streets and put them through programs that will turn their lives around and make them productive in society.

She indicated that most of her projects will start in Monrovia before extending to Buchannan and other parts of Liberia.
