MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Mansion has denied that the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, has been suspended by President George Weah.

News of the Minister’s suspension has been circulating on social media lately in the country.

The Office of the Press Secretary clarified that there is no iota of truth to the well circulated information on social media.

An Executive Mansion release issued on Thursday, April 26, 2018, said Minister McGill still enjoys the absolute confidence and trust of President Weah.

The release also said that at no time has the Minister ever been summoned or chastised for any unethical practice as claimed by the rumor.

Presidential Press Secretary Sam Mannah described the information as “fake news” and a distraction aimed at taking the Executive’s attention from the implementation of the government’s Pro-poor Agenda.

Meanwhile, Minister McGill will chair Cabinet while the President honors a special invitation extended him to attend the Francophone-Africa Summit taking place in Congo, Brazzaville.
