MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The ECOWAS Civil Society Movement of Liberia wants government put in place some proactive measures aimed at stabilizing the economy of Liberia.

Speaking to ELBC Monday, May 21, 2018, the Executive Director of the group, Oretha Denis, said there is a need for government to intervene in reducing the high prices being charged for basic commodities on the local market.

Her statement comes in the wake of several complains from the public about the hike in prices of basic commodities on the Liberian market.

Madam Denis said:” High prices and high foreign exchange rates are key issues currently affecting citizens of the country.”

She said if government should achieve its Pro-poor Agenda, the voices and wellbeing of ordinary Liberians must be considered.
