MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Commerce Inspectorate Team has, with immediate effect, shut down the Mukesh Shopping Center in Vai-Town, Bushrod Island.

The business center was ordered shut down by Commerce Inspector- General, Josephine Davis, for terrible storage facility and contaminated goods.

In an interview with journalists Monday, May 21, 2018, Madam Davis said:” Mukesh Shopping Center was inspected based on a tip-off after business owners were informed about the inspection dates setup by the Commerce Ministry.”

During the tour, it was discovered that alcoholic beverages and assorted food items have been contaminated by feces leaking from the top of the warehouse, where people are residing.

According to her, the Management of the business entity usually cleans most of the contaminated goods and sells them to retailers as auction goods.

She termed such bad business practice as inhumane, saying the Commerce Ministry’s Inspection Team was waiting the quantifying of the goods, and thereafter, requisite fines will be leveled against Mukesh Shopping Center in accordance with Liberia’s Commerce laws.
