Institute tougher measures…-OSIWA Rep.in Africa

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) Representative in Africa, Massa Crayton, is calling for tougher penalty, including shaming of dishonest public officials.

Madam Crayton said: “Shaming dishonest public officials will reduce the lack of accountability and transparency in the public sector.”

Speaking Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the start of the Integrity Idol Liberia 2018 Summit in Monrovia, Madam Crayton cautioned that Liberia should not be a society where the culture of impunity is embraced.

She assured of OSIWA’s continuous support to Accountability Lab Integrity Idol program which seeks to single-out trustworthy and dedicated public servants.

The Summit brought together past and present integrity idols and other panelists to discuss ways to engage government to build the integrity idol.

Participants at the forum also focused on means of using the campaign to change individual integrity into broader accountability into institutions as well as new ideas to engage young people during the campaign.
