Joint security confiscate huge quantity of drugs

CLAY, BOMI COUNTY-The Joint Security at the Clay Check Point in Bomi County has seized a huge consignment of Marijuana valued at over Two-million Liberian Dollars.

The drugs were discovered under bags of gari and other goods   aboard a cargo truck with lesson plate TT-30262 from neighboring Sierra Leone.

According to our Correspondent, the owner of the Truck, Aaron Taylor, was arrested for allegedly smuggling the drug into Liberia.

The discovery and subsequent arrest were made on Saturday, June 23, 2018, following a tip-off at the Bo Waterside Point of entry.

At the same time, the Joint security has also confiscated several goods for the owners’ failure to pay government legitimate taxes.

The goods included eleven bails of used clothes, eight bags of Tobacco, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Aaron Taylor and five others, linked to these crimes, have been reminded in police custody awaiting trial.
