Former VP son summoned for alleged theft of property

MOROVIA, LIBERIA-The Monrovia City Court on Wednesday July 4, 2018, issued a writ of summons for the son of the former Vice President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai, for alleged theft of property.

According to court documents, in 2017, defendant Joseph received a 2015 TOYOTA Tundra belonging to a private company called Star Oil valued at One-hundred – forty- thousand United States Dollars.

The vehicle was available on a rental basis, which the defendant out of deception concealed, thus exercising unauthorized control over same, with the intent to deprive Star Oil Company asset to the vehicle and benefits.

Defendant Boakai Jr. is expected to appear on Tuesday July 10 at 9am to answer to the charge levied against him through the Star Oil Company.

The alleged act of the defendant is unlawful, wicked, illegal, criminal, and intentional, which is in violation of Section 15.51 of the New Penal Code of Liberia.
