MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former Liberian International soccer star Thomas Kojo has been confirmed Caretaker Manager of Liberia’s National Men’s Football team, the Lone Star.

Kojo’s appointment was confirmed last week by both the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Liberia Football Association (LFA), following earlier pronouncement by LFA President Musa Bility that James Debbah was still in charge of the Lone Star.

According to both institutions, Coach Thomas Kojo and his technical staff will stir the affairs of the team until a final determination is made on the appointment.

LFA Vice President for Administration Sekou Konneh told ELBC Sport that Coach Kojo’s immediate task is to put together a home based team that will take on Sierra Leone on July 22 in Monrovia in an International Friendly.

The game will also form part of celebrations commemorating Liberia’s 171st Independence Day.

Other members of the Lone Star Caretaker technical staff include former Invincible Eleven (IE) and Lone Star forward Sam Chibli, Deputy Coach, George Gebro, Assistant Coach and Sunday Sieh, goal keeper trainer.

Thomas Kojo has, meanwhile, named 25 local players for the Lone Star as they prepare to battle against Sierra Leone.

The team is due to commence training at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) this Tuesday.
