Nat’l Housing Authority to provide low cost housing units

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Housing Authority (NHA) is said to be in an advance stage of efforts to up-grade slum communities and provide low cost housing units for citizens.

Already the NHA has brought into the Country Burkina Faso based GELPAZ, a company that specializes in the construction of low income housing.

NHA Deputy Managing Director for Administration, Tugbeh C. Tugbeh, told ELBC Wednesday, August 15, 2018 that the company has agreed to construct 50 thousand low income housing units in Liberia.

He said:” The project will start with the construction of two- thousand housing units in the Township of West Point, under the sponsorship of Shelter Afrique.”

According to Mr. Tugbeh, it is the intention of President Weah to upgrade the Slum of West Point into an urban City.

The Deputy NHA boss said the 50 low income housing units will be spread across communities within the 15 Counties of Liberia.
