BUCHANAN, GRAND BASSA COUNTY-Liberia’s Chief Executive says Liberians cannot be talking peace and refuse to reconcile their differences, and that peace must not be taken lightly.

President George Weah wants Liberians demonstrate their commitment to peace with actions and not just words.

President Weah said:” The deeds and actions of Liberians must show that they are prepare to sustain the peace that the Country has enjoyed for 15 years.”

According to President Weah, maintaining the peace is a demonstration of patriotism and a proof to those who sacrificed for peace in Liberia that Liberians are serious.

He spoke Saturday, August 18, 2018, in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County at the National Kukatornon Peace Festival, an occasion that also marked the 15th Anniversary of the signing of the Accra Comprehensive Peace Accord.

The Peace deal signed in the Ghanaian Capital, Accra, on August 18, 2003, brought an end to 14 years of war in Liberia.

The Liberian Leader said the 14 years of war in Liberia did not only destroyed lives and infrastructure, but also destroyed the image of the Country and its people.
