MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says the development of Liberia is the collective responsibility of all Liberians and not the President alone.

According to the former Liberian Leader, one leader does not make development to work for any nation, stressing that it requires the commitment, collective work and participation of all.

She admonished Liberians to take advantage of available opportunities and exert every effort to support the Government of President George Manneh Weah, so that Liberia will move forward from where she left it.

Former President Sirleaf’s statement comes in the wake of complaints from some Liberians that she helped to create the current economic hardship in the Country.

Madam Sirleaf spoke to ELBC Wednesday, August 29,2018, at her Residence in Monrovia.

She said:” What I achieved may not have met the expectation of some Liberians, but they should first reflect on where I took the Country from where she left it.”

At the same time, former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has expressed support for the coastal road project being undertaken by the government.

Madam Sirleaf said the coastal road project will provide jobs for Liberians, accelerate development, reduce urban migration and improve food security.

She, however, cautioned Liberians, especially those being affected by bad roads, to be patient because road construction is expensive and requires time.

Meanwhile, the former Liberian Leader that said she will continue to live in Liberia and develop her farm, and called on other former officials of government to continue to provide the needed support to the nation.
