Firestone rejects several students’ birth certificates

FIRESTONE, MARGIBI COUNTY-The Management of Firestone Plantation Company in Harbel, Margibi County, has rejected the birth certificates of some Five-hundred employees’ children.

Firestone Human Resource Manager, Marram Wreah, is quoted as describing the birth certificates as substandard.

The decision means that the affected students may not be eligible for enrollment into the Company’s school system.

However, the Health Ministry Representative at the Company, Alfred Francis, said:’ The certificates are valid once they contain the seal of Liberia and the logo of the ministry.”

ELBC’s Reporter said the affected students could not enter school Monday, September 3, 2018, the beginning of Academic 2018/2019.

During an interview with ELBC Monday, September 3, 2018, affected employees said they are seeking the Ministry of Health’s intervention.
