LOWER BONG COUNTY- LIBERIA-Report says there is a shortage of teachers at the Kerkulah Giddings High School in Sanoyea District, Lower Bong County.

According to our Lower Bong County Correspondent Tuesday, September 4, 2018, the Public School, previously operated as a Semi-High School, has been elevated to a full Senior High Level.

This latest development, our Correspondent said, has given rise to the need for additional teachers at the institution.

He said currently the school has only five teachers, including three administrators and two ECOWAS Volunteer Teachers.

Our Correspondent also said other teachers who previously taught at the Kerkulah Giddings High School were volunteer teachers, some of whom on supplementary payroll, but they have left the classroom, due to lack of funding.

The School’s Principal is therefore appealing to major stakeholders, including the Education Ministry, for additional teachers to enable the high school fully operate.

The report further noted that other student  hailing from Gbarpolu County usually attend the school, instead of going to distant Totota to complete high school.

Our Correspondent also named the lack of laboratory and library facilities to better prepare the students, especially senior students, as some challenges being faced by the school.
