GRAND BASSA COUNTY, LIBERIA-About four-hundred students funded by the Grand Bassa County Scholarship Foundation might not enroll in various schools and universities across Liberia due to arrears owed.

ELBC’s Correspondent said Elementary, Junior and Senior high schools operating in Grand Bassa County have seized students’ academic reports, preventing enrolment.

According to him, the Office Manager at the Scholarship Foundation Office, Amos Boyou, said the Foundation cannot settle about forty-thousand United States Dollars debt owed because it is brooked.

Our Correspondent told ELBC Tuesday, September 4, 2018,that the County Social Development Fund on which the Foundation depends has given no money, and Arcelor Mittal, one of the educational supporters, is challenged due to the Ebola crisis and the drop in iron ore price on the world market.

Our Correspondent said:” Parents are calling on the Liberian Government to remit to the county, and are pleading with well-meaning Liberians and philanthropists to come to their aid.”
