US 3.4 billion is ready to build roads- Public Works Minister

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Public Works Minister, Mobuto Nyenpan, says Liberia needs US 3.4 billion to address the issue of roads in the country.

Minister Nyenpan said the appalling road condition is not only alarming, but also poses threat to national security.

Nyenpan said: “In a bid to address these challenges, President Weah has engaged several institutions in addressing Liberia’s infrastructure needs”.

The Works Minister spoke Tuesday, September 11, 2018 when he address the Ministry of Information regular Press briefing in Monrovia.

Minister Nyenapan said feasibility and the design of the two new overhead bridges are already completed.
He said the design is the first of its kind in West Africa and Liberia.

Nyenpan also disclosed that the government of Liberia will shortly commence the pavement of roads in several communities in and around Monrovia.

He also cautioned Liberians who are venturing into construction to get permit from the ministry before the commencement of construction work.
