The Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Nathaniel Blama has attributed the delay in the State of the Environment Report (SOER), on the lack of financial support from the Liberian Government.

Mr. Blama said: “The Environmental Law provides that the Government conducts the State of the Environment Report every five years, but there has not been a report in 12 years”.

The EPA Boss stressed that there will also be a National Environment undertaken to save the environment.  He noted that similar SOER and NEAP studies will access Environment and put into a plan of action.

He spoke Monday, September 10, at the Green Consultancy Incorporated Inception Workshop on the Second State of the Environment Report and the National Environmental Action Plan for Liberia.

Green Consultancy Incorporated is a Liberian Environmental Company, hired to develop the second State of the Environment and the First National Environmental Action Plan for Liberia.
