House to resume Special Session

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has drawn attention to the 16 billion Liberian Dollars bank notes scandal being investigated by the Liberian Government.

In a release issued Thursday, September 20, 2018, the House says it will shortly convene a Special Session in the coming days which has attracted the legislative consent for the forward match of the workings of the government in the best interest of the State and its people.

The House of Representatives last week adjourned in accordance to law for its annual break, but constitutional mandate dictates that a special session be convened in line with article 32 B of the Constitution on subject of National Concern.

Amongst other issues for the reconvening of the Special Session are the legislations of needed piece of law which are bordered on pressing National Challenges.

The Justice Ministry recent response to the ongoing investigations about 16 billion Liberian Dollars bank notes in question would be high on the agenda for swift and decisive action.

The leadership of the House of Representatives believes that this development should be the concern of all Liberians, and will do everything in the scope of the law to reach a realistic resolution.
