MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Liberia has launched a Platinum MasterCard for its customers in Monrovia.

The outlook of the Platinum MasterCard is similar to the VISA Card mostly used to withdraw money with ease.

The Platinum MasterCard was launched in Monrovia recently by UBA Liberia Managing Director Olalekan Balogun.

Mr. Balogun said the card can be used anywhere around the world.

“Though the Platinum MasterCard is similar to the usual VISA Card we use, this Platinum MasterCard is essentially used as a service provider.

He said users of the Platinum MasterCard will be accorded cheaper discounts.

The UBA Liberia Executive named car rental, airport lounge and shopping spree as services the card would be able to provide with less charge.

“The launch of the Platinum MasterCard is an opportunity afforded Liberians and luxury seekers first class treatment out of the Country” said Mr. Balogun.

The launch comes at the time UBA and partners, including the Tony Elumelu Foundation, gear up for the 2018 TEF Forum in Lagos, Nigeria.

The TEF forum is slated for Thursday, October 25, 2018.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation is Africa’s leading entrepreneurship-focused philanthropic organization based in Lagos, Nigeria.

It will bring together over 5,000 entrepreneurs, global investors and development partners to brainstorm on the future of entrepreneurship in Africa.

It is expected to feature the launch of the TEFConnect, the world’s largest digital platform, connecting African entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship ecosystem for Africans.
