ECOWAS Parliamentary delegation to embark on fact finding mission

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Moustapha Cisse Lo, will this week lead a parliamentary delegation to Liberia on a fact finding and awareness mission.

According to the Secretary General of the Community Parliament, John Azumah, the delegation will undertake border visits beginning Friday, September 28 to Sunday September 30, 2018.

The Speaker and delegation will visit the Liberia/Sierra Leone border at Bo Waterside in Grand Cape Mount County this Friday, September 28, 2018.

A release issued Tuesday, September 25, 2018, said the delegation will conclude its visit to border towns along the Liberia/Guinea border in Ganta Nimba County on Sunday, September 30, 2018.

The visit is to find out more about the implementation of the ECOWAS Protocol relating to free movement in member states.

The release said given the importance of the protocol, government officials working in the relevant national structures will be involved in the activities.

The visits are part of key activities been carried out by the Community Parliament in conformity with its planned programs for 2018 and towards strengthening regional integration.
