Public Works Ministry to begin paving community roads in Monrovia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Public Works Minister Mabutu Nyenpan says the Ministry is in full gear to execute President George Weah’s mandate for the pavement of Community Roads in Monrovia and its environs, beginning this dry season.

During the ground breaking ceremony in July this year for the  construction of the ELWA- Coca cola Road, President Weah mandated the Public Works Ministry to  begin putting into action  activities , plans and programs that will lead to the  pavement of community roads in Monrovia and its environs.

Appearing on the ELBC Super Morning Show Monday, October 1, 2018, Minister Nyenpan said the Ministry is leaving no stone unturned in executing the mandate.

He said pursuant to that, they have been engaged with the roads doing all technical specifications and designs to ensure the right things are done during the dry season.

The Public Works Minister said:” Procurement processes are ongoing and the various contractors are now in the final stage of the bidding process this month.”

He disclosed that in the next weeks, the Ministry will announce contractors whose bids will be   most responsive and will now begin the pavement of these roads.

President Weah this afternoon symbolically broke grounds for the pavement of Community roads.

The ceremony took place in the Pepper Wood area in Johnsonville.

The Liberian Leader further led an array of Government Officials to New Kru Town to inspect the Coastal Defense Program.
