MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Peace-Building Office has paid tribute to President George Weah for his continuous effort in building a harmonious society through the protection of sustainable peace.

The Liberia Peace-Building Office operates under the umbrella of the Internal Affairs Ministry in Monrovia.

In a release issued Tuesday, October 2, 2018, the Peace-Building Office (PBO) says President Weah acknowledged Liberia’s peacekeeping success-story and recently assured world leaders that the nation will never take peace for granted.

The PBO is commending the President for the pronouncement that Liberia’s peace is still fragile and Government therefore needs to initiate series of National Peace Dialogues across the Country.

The release also noted that President Weah has, by this statement, challenged Liberians to restart those difficult conversations at local levels and involve the youth to avoid the mistakes of the past.

With the President’s vision of National Healing and Reconciliation, the Peace-Building Office, along with partners, fully pledge their support and commitment to realizing the Liberian Leader’s dream.

In view of said development, the PBO, in collaboration with the National Peace Ambassador, has embarked on planning National reconciliation dialogues at the county, district and community levels.

The Peace-Building Office is meanwhile calling on national and international partners to support the initiative.
