Justice Minister warns against lawlessness

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Justice Minister Cllr. Frank Musa Dean is warning against the growing trend of lack of respect for the rule of law in Liberia.

Minister Dean said such behavior is found everywhere in the society, including officials of Government.

The Minister named traffic violation, rape, murder and illegal strikes as some of the actions.

Cllr. Dean spoke Monday, October 8, 2018 during the opening of the October Term of Court at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.

He described the rule of law as the bedrock of a functional Judicial System which must be adhered to at all times by everyone.

However, Minister Dean said he intends to convene calling a meeting with various stats actors and opinion leaders, including civil society, community leaders and law enforcement agencies to discuss the growing acts of lawlessness in the Country.

He said:” Those acts are dangerous and threaten the peace and security as well as the gains made in Liberia over the years.”
