Liberia’s Vice President breaks ground…

FUAMAH, BONG COUNTY-Liberian Vice President Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor has broken grounds for the construction of a Vocational Training Center in Fuamah District, Bong County.

The initiative is as a result of a partnership agreement reached with NetLib Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) for the expansion of the institute in Bong County.

The NVTI currently operates in Congo Town, Monrovia, and offers several disciplines  ,including Auto mechanic and Electricity, Basic Air Conditioning, Service Station attendant and Information Technology, among others.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony Friday, October 12, 2018, VP Howard-Taylor said:” The initiative is primarily intended to create access to opportunities through inclusive technical and vocational training to thousands of youth who lack skills to become employable in that part of the country.”

Speaking earlier, Bong County Superintendent Esther walker welcomed the construction of institute in the county and also lauded the Vice president for contributing to the education of ten girls from Nimba County.

For his part, Bong County District #7 Representative Joseph Kolleh admonished parents to take the initiative seriously to ensure that their children become productive citizens in the society.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held in Bong Mines, Bong County, and was graced by representatives from ArcelorMittal, NASSCORP, Monrovia Club Breweries, LISCR, MNG Gold, Commissioners and traditional leaders among others.
