(lbsonline/Liberia)-The Ministry of Commerce and Industry says five entertainment centers have violated the restriction placed on the sale of alcoholic beverages to children under the age of 18.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, seven children under the age of 18, were caught buying and drinking alcoholic beverages on Christmas Day.

Assistant Minister of Commerce, Sie Gahn made the disclosure Wednesday, 26th December 2012 in Monrovia, but failed to disclose the names of the business centers.

Minister Gahn described the action of the entertainment centers as a violation of the ministry’s restriction on the sale of beverages to underage children. “Appropriate actions will be taken against the five entertainment centers in accordance with law”.

“The ministry’s task force during the Christmas day celebration, visited several communities and entertainment centers. Among them, about 43 centers were discovered unregistered with government. The ministry has therefore, given these businesses 72 hours to meet the requirements for registration”.
