(lbsonline/Liberia)- The House of Representatives’ Plenary has ordered an investigation into the alleged corruption saga at the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA).

Of recent, there have been corruption claims and counter-claims at the LAA, involving the authority and its out-going Managing Director, Ellen Corkrum.

The House’s Plenary overwhelmingly voted Thursday, February, 21, 2013 requesting the House Committees on Transport, Contracts and Monopoly, as well as Ways, Means and Finance, to conduct the investigation.

The House Plenary’s latest decision is based on a complaint filed against Madam Corkrum by Lofa County electoral District #3 Representative, Eugene Fallah-Kparka.

Representative Fallah-Kparka believes the investigation would help establish the truth in the corruption claims and counter-claims at the LAA.

It can be recalled, that the Liberia Airport Authority recently dismissed the LAA Managing Director for allegedly stealing more than US$1M through dubious negotiations.
