Businesses must be honest on petroleum situation – Gov’t

MONRVOVIA, LIBERIA- The Government of says there is no shortage of petroleum products on the market as it is being portrayed.

The Deputy Information Minister, Eugene Fahngon, said: “There is currently sufficient product in country”; calling on the business community, particularly those service providers in the sector to be honest in their business practice.

Minister Fahngon has therefore, reaffirmed government’s commitment to making prices of basic commodities including petroleum products affordable to Liberians.

According to Deputy Minister Fahngon, “the Ministry of Commerce and the Liberian Petroleum Refinery Company (LPRC) has being holding meetings with importers and dealers to find out the real problem.

He told ELBC in an interview Monday, October 22, 2018 that the outcome of those discussions will be released to the public once the facts are established about what is creating the suspected shortage of petroleum product on the local market.
