MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Supreme Court of Liberia has dismissed an application by lawyers representing Associate Justice Kabina J’aneh, asking Justice Joseph Nagbe to rescue himself from the impeachment proceeding.

Chief Justice Francis Korkpor, speaking for the High Court said there was no sufficient evidence produced by Justice J’aneh’s Lawyers to back their application.

The lead Counsel for Justice J’aneh, Cllr. Arthur Johnson, Thursday, October 18, 2018 filed a motion before the Supreme Court asking Justice Joseph Nagbe to recue himself from the impeachment process.

Cllr. Johnson, before then had argued that Associate Justice Nagbe was a member of the Liberian Senate when  they received and deliberated on the Bill of Impeachment from the House of Representatives.

In his counter, Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe, also argued that there was nothing wrong with his presence on the Supreme Court Bench and resisted calls for his recusal.
