Gov. commits to empowering youth through education-Pres. Weah

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Manneh Weah says his government remains committed to providing every possible opportunity for empowerment to the young people of Liberia through education.

President Weah said his government is focused on preparing the young people of Liberia to fully take over the future leadership of the Country.

He said he will work along with the Education Ministry to try to reduce the prices of  learning materials to afford students have access to education.

President Weah pledged to create an environment that would promote youth security by removing obstacles that intent to undermine youth empowerment in the Country.

The Liberian Leader said:” Youth empowerment through education remains the core value of my government’s PRO-POOR Agenda for Prosperity and Development.” 

President Weah is, however, urging Liberian youth to undertake programs that would promote and sustain the fifteen years of uninterrupted peace Liberians now enjoy.

Speaking Monday, October 29, 2018, at program marking the 49th National Youth Day celebrations in Paynesville, President Weah called on Liberians to use the path of dialogue in seeking redress by helping to protect the peace of sub-region. 

Also speaking, Youth and Sports Minister Zeogar Wilson said:” Dialogue is the surest way to a Country protecting its peace and those in the business of using the young people to perpetrate violence should desist.”
Minister Wilson said the Ministry has developed innovative programs that would provide empowerment for Liberian Youth and discourage them from violence.
