Japanese Gov. pleased with project execution in Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The First Secretary at the Japanese Embassy to Liberia, Yasunori Nakamura, says his Government is satisfied with how its various projects are being implemented in Liberia.

Mr. Nakamura named the ongoing phase-two of the Somalia Drive Road, the Management Capacity Development for Health Services in Montserrado County, the Monrovia Power System at LEC Head Offices and capacity building of members of the Carpentry Union of Liberia through UNIDO.

Besides, he said:” The Japanese Government was currently formulating a strategic plan to identify key areas of assistance to Liberia in its development agenda.”

Mr. Nakamura also disclosed that the Japanese Government is providing Food Assistance to the Liberian Government to enable it undertake other meaningful development initiatives from the sale of the rice donated to the Government.

He said the Food Assistance from his government is also intended to stabilize the rice on the Liberian market and the commodity prices.

Mr. Nakamura spoke Wednesday to ELBC, following a one–day tour of the various Japanese Government’s sponsored projects in the Country.
