BUCHANAN, GRAND BASSA COUNTY-The Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), Cllr. James Verdier, wants the Government demonstrates its commitment to fighting corruption by supporting integrity institutions in the Country.

Cllr. Verdier said Government must direct its energy to supporting those institutions rather than reducing their strength and independence.

He said:” The removal of Security of Tenure from the LACC and other security institutions will undermine their independence and limit their potential.”

He called on the Government of Liberia to relook at the bill because it is not in the interest of the fight against corruption.

The LACC Boss was speaking in an ELBC interview Monday, December 10, 2018 on the sideline of World Anti-Corruption Day celebration in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

Cllr. Verdier wants the Senate to ensure that the Security of Tenure of integrity institutions is preserved.
