MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-The President of the University of Liberia (UL) Dr. Ophelia Weeks says the recent declaration of free tuition at the University is a win-win situation for all.

Dr. Weeks said:” Over the years, sixty-six percent of the students at the UL have been on financial assistance and many of the scholarship donors are most often indebted to the University.”

She, however, said the intervention by the Liberian Government to cover tuition cost and also provide subsidy to the University has brought great relief to the UL Administration.

Dr. Weeks also called on the government to continue its support to the state-run University, adding that the UL needs all the assistance to operate smoothly.

She commended the visitor to the University of Liberia, President George Manneh Weah, for strongly supporting the University Digital registration process.

The UL President spoke Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at the Commencement Convocation of the UL Graduate and Professional Schools in Fendell.

Wednesday’s Graduation climaxed the 99th Graduation and Convocation exercises of the UL, which started on Monday, December 3, 2018.
