World Bank, MOH dedicate A.M. Dogliotti College’s facilities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA- World Bank and the Ministry of Health have dedicated the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine Pre clinical dormitories and classrooms at the fendel campus of the University of Liberia.

The project was supported by a US 2.4 million   grant from the World Bank and implemented by the United Nations Project Office (UNOPS).

Speaking Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the dedicatory ceremony in Fendell, Montserrado County, the Acting Health Minister Dr. Francis Kateh thanked the World Bank for the support to the College.

Dr. Kateh said the new facility is a major lift for the A. M. Dogliotti College of Medicine and will now afford students the change to expand their research on virus diseases.

Also speaking, World Bank Liberia Operation Officer Esther Garcia said her institution intervened because a Ministry of Health assessment has shown that enrollment has dropped at the college due to inadequate facilities.

She said the long term objective of the project is to create a positive learning and living environment so that students can successfully graduate and become part of the health workforce.

The facilities include two 96 capacity student dormitories, two 75 capacity class rooms inclusive of laboratories, water facilities and 24 hour internet service.
