Gov’t issues arrest warrant for GT Bank’s Aodeji Bejide

MONROVIA,LIBERIA-The government of Liberia has issued international arrest warrant for the arrest of a former manager of GT Bank Liberia, Aodeji Bejide.

Defendant Ajodeji, was also indicted by the Grand Jury of Montserrado County, for aggravated assault in Liberia. Defendant Ajodeji, was earlier issued a writ not making it possible to leave Liberia in September 2018, but he however, left the country on medical grounds.

A three week ultimatum was issued the Nigerian National by the court but Mr. Bejide absconded and has not been seen.  Based on the decision taken in Monrovia, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 the government of Liberia has however, alerted the INTERPOL.

It can be recalled on August 28, 2018, defendant Ajodeji intentionally used a calculator to inflict serious bodily wounds on Edward Freeman, an employee of GT Bank during in Monrovia, during a  staff meeting.

The former bank manager was arrested and detained at the Liberian National police headquarters, and later forwarded to court, where he was charged and subsequently released to his lawyers.
