GRAND KRU COUNTY, LIBERIA- The newly assigned County Attorney for Grand Kru County is pleading with Government to deploy additional police officers in the County.

Attorney Nyonkpao Daye said:” The lack of adequate police officers is extremely hampering the criminal justice system in the county.”

Speaking in an ELBC interview recently, Attorney Daye said the County also needs a rehabilitation center to make up for prison over crowdedness in the County.

He said:” Grand Kru County with a population of over 57 thousand residents has less than 12 police officers.”

According to him, some administrative districts have no police officers thus giving rise to an increase in criminal activities.

The County Attorney, however, committed his office to working along with the local administration and the Legislative Caucus to engage the Ministry of Justice on the need to increase Police presence in Grand Kru County.
