MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Co–Founder of the Cultural Science Research and Development Institute in Fort Washington, Maryland, has restated call for the establishment of a Police University in Liberia.

According to Dr. Amos Sirleaf, since the establishment of Liberia National Police Academy in the 1950s, it has been offering basic police training with certificate and need to graduate from that level.

He told ELBC Sunday that the proposal was made in 2015 while he was providing some services at the Police Academy during the administration of Former Police Director Colonel Chris Massaquoi.

Dr. Sirleaf said similar proposal has been presented to the current Police Inspector General, Patrick Sudue.

He said when the university is established, it will help police officers to obtain Associate Degrees and Bachelor Degrees in specialized areas.

Dr. Sirleaf disclosed that curriculum has also been developed to offer homeland security, criminal justice, victimology, sexual harassment and the use of force, among others.
