MIAMUE, LOWER BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Kofi Annan Institute for Peace Building and Conflict Resolution at the University of Liberia has ended a two day workshop on peace and security in Miamue, Lower Bong County.

The exercise held January 20,2019 at the Peace Hall, Miamue, is intended to see how citizens are responding to the peace and security of their communities, after the departure of the United Nations Mission in Liberia.

According to our Correspondent, the head of the program, Professor T.D.Sandee, said the sustenance of peace and security in various communities across the country will give way to government’s development goals.

Our Correspondent said citizens from all sectors, including students, women peace group, local leaders among others were present at the Peace Hall.

He said the people basically talked about the rule of law, specifically the fast tracking of justice in court cases and empowering the police to aid in the process.

Our Correspondent said Professor Sandee thanked the people for their overwhelming participation, but challenged them to work harder to sustain the peace as government alone cannot do all.
