Pres. Weah forms committee to settle Fendell land dispute

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has constituted a committee to find a safe and peaceful solution to the Fendell Land Saga.
In a letter from the Executive Mansion, President Weah instructed the Executive Director of the Liberia Refugee, Repatriation and Resettlement Commission, LRRRC, Rev. Festus Logan, to liaise with the Liberia Media for Democratic Initiatives in ensuring a solution that guarantees safety and dignity for affected persons.

In a meeting Tuesday, February 19, 2019, held at the LMDI Headquarters near Careysburg, the Committee said finding a solution that guarantees quick and dignify redress to the thousands of victims is their focus.

It can be record recently that President George Weah apologized to Fendell Demolition Victims and agreed to negotiate an amicable settlement for the affected persons.

President Weah’s decision comes following a sustained advocacy by the Executive Director of the LMDI, John Kollie, and team.
