Pres. Weah leaves for Israel

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Manneh Weah at the head of a high power Government delegation has left the country for Israel at the invitation of its government and people.

While in Israel, the Liberian Leader is expected to hold discussions with President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Their discussions will focus on the creation of investment opportunities in Agriculture, Health, Security, and the Energy Sectors by Israeli Financiers.

President Weah is expected to participate in a traditional and Cultural Tree Planting ceremony, an historic event for every visiting head of state.

According to an executive mansion release issued Friday, February 22, 2019,those accompanying the President are the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Agriculture, Mines and Energy, Health Finance and Information.

Others are NIC Boss Molewuleh Gray and Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee.

The minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel Mc-gill, chairs the cabinet in consultation with the vice president and via telephone with the president while he is away.  

Meanwhile, President George Weah has made more Appointments in Government Affecting the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Gender, Children and Social Protection.

At the Foreign Ministry, Andrew W. Kronyahn has been appointed as Ambassador Plenipotentiary to Italy and at the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection, Hassan Kanneh, has been appointed Deputy Minister for Research, Policy and Planning, while Roosevelt Klafleh goes as Assistant Minister for Research, Policy and Planning.

In the meantime, these appointments are Subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate where applicable.
