MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House’s Plenary has given extension to the Committees on Contracts, Concessions and Investments to enable them fully complete the reviewing of various legal instruments of investors and business entities in Liberia.

Plenary’s decision is based on a request from the Committee following the reading of a preliminary report in Thursday’s Session.

The preliminary report, among other things, revealed that some entities, including BEVAH Company, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and the National Bureau of Concessions are not complying with the Committee’s request.

The report further stated that the Committee did not complete its findings because it is still scrutinizing documents being submitted.

Speaking to ELBC Friday, February 22, 2019, following the extension, the specialized Committee Chairman, Lofa County District #3 Representative, Clarence Massaquoi, encouraged entities that have not complied with the Committee’s request to do so as it is in the best interest of the entities and Liberians.

Representative Massaquoi has however assured that the Committee’s work will be concluded within the time extended.
