(mylbsonline/Liberia)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has appointed Madam Mary Broh to head the Project Implementation Unit (PIMU) for the construction of the Omega Village in Paynesville, Montserrado County.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said: “The project has been at a standstill for almost three years now, and with the coming in of Mary as head, she will jump-start the implementation”
“Plans are being finalized to accommodate all services required by the community,” the Liberian Leader also said.

The Liberian President made the appointment Tuesday 5th March, 2013 in a nation-wide broadcast in Monrovia.
Recently, Mary Broh came under public pressure for her alleged role in preventing Montserrado County Superintendent, Grace Kpan, from going to jail.

Based on briefing received from Vice President, Joseph Boakai on Madam Broh’s level of involvement in the Grace Kpan saga, President Johnson-Sirleaf indefinitely suspended the then Acting Monrovia City Mayor, pending further consultations.

The Liberian Leader, at the same time, indefinitely suspended Superintendent Kpan for her refusal to go to jail for failing to refund the US$50,000 Montserrado County Development Fund within 72 hours.

The House of Representatives also ordered that Madam Kpan goes to jail for three days for her disrespectful attitude towards members of the House.

The House of Representatives recently summoned Madam Kpan to give account of the county development fund entrusted to her as Superintendent of Montserrado County.

Based on her failure to account for the money, the lawmakers subsequently held the Superintendent in contempt and sentenced her for three days at the Monrovia Central Prison, a maximum prison center in Monrovia.

In the midst of the highly politicized controversy, Madam Mary Broh last week resigned her post as Acting Monrovia City Mayor, barely one week prior to her new appointment as head of the Omega Market Village Project.
