VOINJAMA, LIBERIA - The Ministry of Health has dispelled ramous of the news of suspected Ebola patient reportedly escaped from the Tellewoyan Hospital in Voinjama, Lofa County recently.

Our ELBC Correspondent said: “There was an assessment exercise conducted by the Health Ministry to test the preparedness of various Health teams in three counties   involving partners and citizens in case of any report of life threatening diseases”.

The Chief Medical Officer of Liberia Dr. Francis Kateh, when contacted, confirmed the Health Ministry’s exercise and said: “The exercise indeed was conducted in Lofa, Bong and Nimba Counties but the allegation is as a result of ramous based on falsehood”.

The news of the alleged suspected Ebola case news at the Tellewoyan Hospital spread Monday, March 11, 2019, created immediate fear amongst residents of Lofa County.

The rumors had it that the patient had traveled from the D.R. Congo through the Republic of Guinea and later landed in QuarduGboni district, Lofa County.
