President Weah departs Sunday for United Arab Emirates

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Manneh Weah has left the Country for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), for a four-day official visit to that Country.

During the visit, President Weah is expected to meet with Crown Prince Shiekh Mohamed Bin Zayed al Nahyan.

According to an Executive Mansion released issued Sunday, March 17, 2019, “The discussions between the Liberian Leader and the Crown Prince will center on fostering direct UAE investment in Liberia to cement relations between the two countries”.

The Liberian leader will also grace the closing ceremonies of the 2019 Special Olympics slated for March 21 this year.

Over 7,000 athletes, including children and adults with intellectual disabilities, are competing in seventy sporting activities.

The Executive Mansion release also said while President Weah is away, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, will chair the affairs of the Cabinet in close consultation with the Vice President, Jewel Howard-Taylor and via telephone conversation with the President.
