MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The Impeachment Trial involving the Liberian Senate, and embattled Associate Justice, Kabineh Ja’neh, continues Monday, March 18, 2019 as he took the stand.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, Justice Ja’neh is providing evidence in his own defense.

This followed the preparation and presentation of what is termed as Theory of the Case to the Trial Jurors at the Senate by the Defense lawyers representing the legal interest of Justice Ja’neh.

Justice Ja’neh is facing impeachment trial for allegedly committing multiple offenses, ranging from corruption, mis-use of power, theft of property, among others.

Prior to his testimony, the House of Representatives had provided three witnesses who testified in favor of that august body. They included Representatives Acarius Gray, Karnie Wesso and Annie Constance.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice, Francis Korkpor, has granted an application from the Defense Team of Justice Ja’neh, accepting Retired Associate Justice, Philip Banks, the opportunity to provide evidence as expert witness in the ongoing impeachment trial.
